Moyola’s highly skilled workforce is complemented by our precision engineering apprenticeship programme, leading to nationally recognised qualifications delivered by our own full time craft instructor. All of the CADCAM engineers at Moyola are graduates of the company’s apprenticeship program.

Moyola is very active with the local schools in encouraging STEM related activities including sponsoring rocket challenges, facilitating work experience opportunities and multiple school visits per year.

Moyola has an ambitious growth strategy, and has a focused interest in supporting education. We want to promote a diverse workforce and in particular want to encourage women to pursue careers in the engineering and manufacturing industry.

THE MOYOLA CHALLENGE

For the 3rd year, Moyola Precision Engineering are holding their annual MOYOLA Challenge – Promoting Women in Engineering. This challenge aims to give young girls the opportunity to explore engineering.

For 5 weeks during the summer the competitors will learn the basics of mechanical engineering with our craft instructor. Three aspects will be covered; milling, turning and hand fitting.

Details:

  • Starting Monday 15th July and finishing Wednesday 14th August (5 weeks)
  • Monday to Thursday (4 days per week)
  • 8.30am – 5pm per day (8 hours)
  • Aimed at 16-18 year old female
